Janet Hamber began her field research on the California condor in the 1970’s as a biologist at the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History. A true Trailblazer for Women in Science and a remarkable inspiration for generations of conservationists on this 50th anniversary of the very first endangered species list.

The Condor’s Shadow is an engaging year-in-the-life film that follows a feisty condor named Pitashi and biologist Joseph Brandt of the Ventura-based USFWS California Condor Recovery Program.
